Panama City Renaissance School students learn about the underwater world

On Friday, Mrs. Estes took a group of Panama City Renaissance School children to the Museum of the Sea in Panama City Beach. The children throughly enjoyed exploring the “underwater world”. The kids climbed through a submarine and learned about air pressure, light refraction and why diving bells work.

FAMU scientists teach Renaissance School kids about laboratory equipment and mosquitoes

Last Thursday the K4 and kindergarten students from the Panama City Renaissance School visited the FAMU Public Health Entomology Research and Education Center. The visit was organized by the students’ teachers, Sonia Song and Jain Yao. During the visit, Dr. Petersen talked with the children about the mosquito research. The children enjoyed learning about the laboratory, how to use the equipment and about the mosquito life cycle.
